Our history. Our existence.
Boksburg Rugby Club (previously known as ERPM Rugby Club) and famously referred to as “the Owls” was formed in 1903 following the discovery of gold in Boksburg in 1887. The Club celebrated its 120th year anniversary during 2023 and continues to use Prince George Park Stadium in Boksburg as its home ground. The Club has in the circumstances a rich history and has over the years delivered numerous provincial players for the old Transvaal Rugby Union, the old Eastern Transvaal Rugby Union and the current the Valke Rugby Union (“the Valke”). Avril Malan, the Springbok rugby player and legend, was one of the earlier administrators who were actively involved with the Club for many years. The Club is still vibrant and in existence with its home ground being the established and well-known Prince George Park, Adderley Street, Boksburg.
